Dell - The Battle Begins

Over the weekend I shared my thoughts on the uphill battle that Michael Dell and his company faces. The stock is off to a higher start. What's the easiest way to save money fast? Oustourcing would be the quick answer in corporate America these days.

Is outsourcing or offshoring always the answer? Reference American Apparel. They seem to be able to do manage a highly volatile manufacturing process in house and on shore.

David, my feeling is it will be a tough road to hoe for Dell. Outsourcing customer support to India is one of the biggest complaints its customers have. Over the long run, it doesn't seem like a good answer.
