Yen Carry Trade - Japanese Spare Time Fun

This is a fascinating story: Fukui Faces Pressure to Raise Rates as Savers Send Yen Abroad.

And lookey here: Japanese Stocks Drop on Concern Over Higher Interest Rates.

As I've said in the recent past, a key element missing from recent U.S. stock market consternation is the lack of a rising Japanese yen, or indication of an unwinding carry trade to exacerbate Wall Street selling pressure. The yen situation remains something needs to be closely monitored.
