Inertia

The stock market has been feeling the weight of the world in the last month - since it peaked at its 200 day moving average (illustrated nicely by the chart below.


As we all know, the spectacular rise in crude oil in the last month has severely hampered the Wall Street bulls. How does the American consumer survive $4 and possibly $5/gallon gasoline? How will Americans survive winter heating bills should home heating oil not pullback from record highs, or should natural gas reach post Katrina/Rita 2005 high as it is now so close close to doing now?
